Humba Recipe

Shouldn't be pork instead? That's what you have in mind. But since I couldn't find a pork that has fats included or skin included I preferred chicken instead.

I have been craving to eat Humba since and I couldn't find a very simple and easy recipe online. Until one of my friend recommended me to go into this website where she learn so many things in cooking. From Filipino foods up to how to make them perfectly.

I was in a hurry to go into that website and yes, I do find it very much helpful. I am no cook at all. But since I am in a foreign country, by myself without a cook like we [pinoys] used too. I have to cook in order to eat Filipino dishes.

I love it, my husband love it and we enjoy eat the whole thing. It is less fatty since chicken don't have much fats at pork. But at least I make it perfectly. I don't have the whole ingredients for I couldn't find it in our store nearby. Still the whole viand turns out perfect. I can't wait to make another more.

Purchased online

This is the items I purchased from an online Filipino Store. They are cheap and has the same price when you go and buy it in the asian store. I have bought everything I needed from the ingredients to the snacks that I certainly miss back home. At least having this at home and eating them once a while makes me feel at home. And I could say oh, I don't really misses everything especially when it comes to food at home.

I was thinking of making a business online too. But how can I advertise it to others that way they would know that I sell this kind of things? I guess I need a  business cards, I can make business cards and includes there what kind of business I have and what I can do too. Did I mention that I do nails too? Yes, and extra income because I don't want to rely on my husband's money. I don't want to ask money at him at all. Also, I can make a postcard printing and sell them too.

Homemade Champorado

Lately, I have the appetite to make a Filipino dish. I miss home and this is the time that I can eat and be like my hometown.

And when things like this, I ate our own dish and sit in the living room watching television. It makes me feel like home and reminds me of my family that I truly misses so much.

I remember how goofy they are, the things they love to do the most. Especially when it comes to my mother. When she comes home from another place she has all this gold jewelry which is her investment. I might want to share it to her that she can also buy gold coins. I can help her to do that now that I am here.

I can't wait to tell her about it. And this food here, I ate it all and yes it is I who just enjoy this food. Too bad for my hubby, he misses the good food we have.

Cocoa Bar

This was the last chocolate bar my friend sent me on my first year here in US. I mentioned to her that it is way too far for me to buy Filipino foods because we don't have any one nearby the place.

I mentioned to her that I love Champorado and since I don't have the pure cocoa, she instead send me two of this bars. I love it, and yes I made and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, my partner doesn't like the recipe, and I do hope that my son would love this dish.

And until now, I still have some left, which I cook the last of the bar and enjoy it. Soon that my son can eat more I will try to ask my friend to send me some so I could make and let him try it. Speaking of my son, soon enough he will be wearing costumes for the incoming holiday. Which will be the first time he'll celebrate Halloween. I can't wait to look for costumes for him at Slipknot Costumes.

Our Strawberry Fruit...

Okay, finally here is the plant we have in our backyard and finally I took the plant. This isn't the whole thing but this is just the 1/3 part of the plant. And they are growing, the other side of it was crawling on the empty spot we have. Which will intended for the other plant we have that for some reason didn't grow.

If only this plants were gold coins. I could be rich by now, just simply pick them up and sell them. Well enough of the dreaming and wake up in the reality of what we have on this world.

Lately this kind of investment is really growing. I don't blame if you buy gold coins make it as your investment of collection. For we all know that someday this gold metal's value will raise in the future. And the more it is older the more its value raised up. I can't wait to have money and try to invest and buy gold coins on my own.

Heart Shape Strawberry Fruit...

Your vision is absolutely normal, nothings wrong with it. It's just that my camera for some reason has strange focus in it. I love to do strawberry picking, although I haven't tried it in a wide field yet. I did find this odd heart shape strawberry. And no matter how much I tried to get a clearer vision it shows that the backyard was the one who obviously more clearer.

This are the routinely works I did in our everyday life. If it wasn't with my son around me. I will totally be bored to death again. Well of course, by then I am at work talking and talking and talking.

Oh speaking of work, I was sort of curious about joining this Pacifico Webtrek that I found online. I was searching legitimate work at home and it leads me into this website. While I was reading the  content and what you can do, it is actually pretty much interesting. But before I dive in this one, I must talk this with my husband that way we can compromise our schedule with our son.

I missed it

I have experienced in my whole life having dogs in the house. We have at least 2 to 3 dogs in the house. They are very much helpful because they would help us know if someone is outside the house while all of us were inside the house watching television. Or at night time, they are there to guard you, let us know whether there are thieves who are trying to intrude our house.

I could still remember that giving a dog food is our chores. Since I have a large family, the chores has to run within the whole siblings. We love it and we enjoyed feeding the dogs. They are so satisfied every after meal they have. This is one way to help dogs by feeding them the right food.

Since they give us a good things in return, we have to make sure that we will give them the best dog food. Years has passed and one dog from the other has already passed in our lives. But we never forget the different characteristics they have and how helpful they are to us.

Now, I do miss them and I could still remember all the names we had for our dogs. I can't get one here for now because I have more responsibility than them my son.

I'm addicted to...

Recently, I am pretty much addicted into this kind of peanut in can. It all started when I bought his can at dollar store one time we went there for a walk and for some things that I want to buy. Me and just baby C stroll from home to that store. It's not that far and it's fun walking because not just you smell the fresh air, seen other things and people you'll also be able to exercise while you push the stroller.

I've bought another container of this because the one that is on the picture is already empty. Oh, I almost forgot the second can I bought was also empty now. So I guess I have to buy another one.

I'm making it

Desperately, I have done this twice now and it seems that it isn't working pretty good. I followed the recipes my sisters gave me but I don't know what went wrong? Am I too anxious to finish making the syrup/caramel toppings? It stills not what you expect and I definitely needs help on making this dessert in the third time, because I can't risk the ingredients anymore. What am I talking about? How to make BIKO or they called it sweet sticky rice cake.

I stay up very late last Saturday night to make sure I have enough time to make and this time it would be good. Impossibly I am not sure about it. Now I have to bake the toppings in the oven just to make sure it'll be hard and very much sticky.

Another displease outcome for the second attempt on making this BIKO. When will I be able to make it perfect? When?

Pineapple models

Yup, we are the Pineapple Models. Jeff has been growing this single pineapple for over 4 years now. And this year it finally bear the first single small fruit. Which everyone really amazed to see, [not for me, I've been seeing so many pineapples in my entire life]. At the same time this fruit was really ripe and we finally decided to picked it up from its plant. And for a remembrance we post with ourselves holding this tiny pineapple fruits.

Now, he is still eager to plant the crown of that fruit. And the fruit isn't really as sweet but smells really really good.

Online Transaction from Phil-Am

This is my latest purchase online from the Phil-Am website. I needed to buy some sticky rice for thanksgiving at the same time need some lye water for my future kutchinta recipe. So I bought many and just paid for the shipping since we don't have a near Filipino store here.

I'm glad I made this purchase, that way I'll be able to cook some dessert for my in laws this coming Thanksgiving day. It is nice to surprise them to some of our delicacy.

His Brunch and my Brunch

Yes that is that title of today's entry. His bru-nch and my bru-nch or how do you write it down in the correct way. He always makes breakfast or brunch every Saturday and Sunday morning. Saturdays if I don't have work and always Sundays.

And this isn't a big shock to me at all, but not until last Sunday when after he made all these delicious meal. I really noticed that he got more and I say more than I usually saw. A plate with FULL of foods. So immediately, I took my camera and took a picture of his and mine meal to compare.

He can eat tons and tons of foods but I don't know where he's putting it. Meaning you can't see that he's gaining weight and take note his almost 6 feet tall and only weighs 117 lbs. I'm so insecure. Lol! won't you?

My meal, includes bacon, rice and 2 beaten eggs

Jeff's meal, includes 6 toasts bread, 2 omelet, 2 beaten eggs, and bacon

First Carrot Harvest

The first batch of the carrot that we pulled out from our garden. Is such a tiny winy one. We actually hope that they were those long carrots that we buy on the market. But no. It is not. Too tiny that might have a couple of bits on it. I don't usually eat raw carrots but it tasted sweet one.

Yet I am glad to plant some of the fruit that way we can save a little. Next year hopefully it will be more.

Bread Sticks

One of the food from the Menu that we have is the bread sticks. I like it when it is hot and fresh. I didn't eat those though, but it looks tempting. I have to make sure that I less to eat more carbohydrates.

And yes, it ended that Jeff ate more than I do.

Can't wait

My husband looks hungry, he couldn't wait for the rest of the food that we order. So he starts shoving some food into his mouth. Good thing he didn't take pictures of myself that way you won't see how I shoved all those foods in my mouth.

I am not sure of what food he ate, as I was busy taking pictures of himself at that night. We dinned in at Pizza Hut where else. We don't have much resto in town and don't want to dare for a new one, as I might not find good food to eat.

Looking at the Menu?

Friday night out with my husband. We are both starving and since it is past 9pm and I don't have enough time to make food when we get into the house. He took me to pizza hut to have dinner with him. It is kinda romantic because the night was rainy and it is friday night too. A time to hang out with you family after the long day at work.

He was checking out the menu while I was busy taking pictures of nothing. I leave it up to him since he worked there. He knows what good food to eat and get.

A new Supplement

Most likely, there are so many different ways and different things scientist made in order to provide individuals here in US to make their lives healthy. I do admit, they eat green leafy vegetables, and aside from that, if you are not a vegetarian most likely the kind of food they have here is more on fatty foods. From burgers, to fries where other family serve to their kids is not healthy at all. I would say, Asians has more good food supplement for meal they serve towards their family than some family here. This is only for my observation and what I have encountering lately. And No, I don't feed my husband those fatty foods because I am aware of my health genetics.

The good news is that, even if you eat more fatty foods than you should be. There is a good supplement that would also help you with that. Or others who does not admire eating those healthy and green veggies they have alternative pills to take in order to supply the daily needs of vitamins and minerals our body needs everyday. It is known as the salad pill, you should try and get an entire salad in one revolutionary pill. They have great vitamins and minerals that would added the energy in your entire body. We all needed this to give us daily strength which has a 100% or more of the daily recommended allowances for Vitamins A, C, E, B-1, D, B-2 and B-6. If you are interested to try and buy one, they are also selling on ebay. It is now time to give yourself these 100mg of Vegetable Complex derived from broccoli, celery, parsley, cauliflower, carrots, spinach and other raw vegetables and greens.

Dinner with Friend

Last night I made dinner for us and also for my husband's co-worker who helped him fix the bathroom. I was excited every time we have friends who comes over and hang out. I am a kind of person who would prefer to have friends come over than spending too much money outside like in the bar and such.

After I made the dinner, the two went downstairs for suffer. I made baked spaghetti which by the way my husband's favorite. It is kinda spices and not like the usual spaghetti that you eat and make. I have fried rice with egg, and hotdog and the fish fillet.

We have fun and I like having someone to join with us during dinner. Because being me and my husband sometimes is boring/lonely.

Pork Stew with Corn and potato

When I was still in Philippines, one of my favorite Pinoy Foods is Pork Stew or we called it NILAGANG BABOY. I tell you that, even I am on diet it will ruined once the viand is already pork stew. Especially when there's fatty pork included in the said food. Now I'm drolling.

Moreover, even if I am not here in the US, I would not pass a month without making this pork stew. I'm happy because the love of my life also loves to eat Filipino Food. So, one great thing is that we share it both.

Boiled Eggplant

Have you tried eating a boiled eggplant? I used to eat that when I was in Philippines, we do have a common small sizes of eggplant right? And they’ve got massive sizes here in US. And since, I am craving for that, we bought one and I makes sure that I have enough eggplant for the other side dish that I am making. And so, here it looks like;

Boiled Eggplant Salad

I have vinegar, ginger, onion and salt mixed as my sauce. It is sort of a salad eggplant. I am stuffed after the preparation. Oh by the way, I was the only person who ate the whole eggplant, why? It is not that I’m greedy; Bana doesn’t like eggplant at all. For him, he finds it YUCK!!! LOL…
