When trials in life hits you…

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allstate for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I remember it was late summer of 2011 when I and my hubby had the scariest day of our life. It was around 3:00 in the morning, that our 2 years old has a bloody nose. He must have known that he wasn’t feeling good that’s why he's being uncomfortable while sleeping. He was unease on the bed that night which caught our attention.

We took him to the Emergency Room for that’s the easiest and earliest way we can get a hold of a doctor. After hours of being in the ER and nurses helped the bleeding stops, they finally got the results back and we were both startled. We couldn’t believe that our son is nearly dying because of very low platelets. We have no idea what’s going on since he is perfectly fine if you look at him physically. Plus there were no symptoms to be seen on him before the incident happens, until his purpura [red dotted spots on his skin] turned purple. This causes very low platelets. We were sent to a better hospital where doctors who specializing this kind of illness will have an immediate access to our son.

I was hoping that it would not be a permanent illness; I know for sure that it might be a side effect of getting these mandatory vaccines for school requirements. I know they should make your kids feel better; still not all of the things contain in the vaccine should be given to your kids. It should be their immune system who fights for the bacteria that is inside them.

Anyways, I am glad that what happened to us, to our son is a short-term. It is a viral infection; he got sick of being sick, which what mostly doctor, said. It is somewhat deadly if we didn’t take him to the hospital immediately, for he will get to the point of bleeding internally due to the low platelets.

I guess, there are reasons for all the things happened to us. We are thankful that God never leaves us. Good Hands for the Good life as what they say. We are lucky and contented as we’ve been taken care of those good and Strong people who know what they are doing. I am delighted that after what happened to us, it helps us grow to be a stronger family.

Just like Allstate Good Life, you know that you are in good hands with them. They will make sure that everyone is taken care off. You should be looking for this kind of car insurance; for they make sure you won’t be worrying about anything anymore, since Allstate will be taking care of you.

  1. That must have been very frightening!! I agree with you that vaccines can sometimes cause things worse then what it is trying to prevent-but most times they are necessary--Antibacterial hand washes and products like that are not--The body does need to learn to fight bacteria on it's own

  2. Oh my goodness, that is frightening. My daughter recently had to go through bloodwork because of low blood count..

  3. how frightening happy to hear all is okay now

  4. Very scary! You say you know for sure that it is a side effect of one of his vaccinations. Do you know which one? How are you so certain? Is that what the doctor said?

  5. Oh my! that scares me and i'm not even the parent how much more you guys had felt at the time. Good thing you brought him to ER asap. Glad he's ok now.

  6. Sometimes when the weather is too hot we experience nose bleeding or sore eyes. But I hope this is just one of the mild weather change virus. Im glad your son is doing good now. Im scared to blood for sure you are very nervous seeing your child in pain

I am so sorry, glad you trusted your instincts instead of saying it is just a bloody nose. That must have been so scary. Glad he is okay.

  8. I am sorry to hear about this terrifying experience. Thank goodness it was a virus and nothing seriously wrong. My son gets bloody noses every time he goes through a growth spurt.

  9. Scary! The Almighty always help those who are in need.
