Why would I consider a cashmere sweater

Cashmere wool is the softest, most luxurious fiber in the world. It comes from the downy undercoat of cashmere goats. Found high in the mountains of central Asia, these goats have thick, course hair that protects them during cold winters. Underneath this coat, however, is an extremely fine fiber.

The fleece-combing season starts in the spring and lasts about four weeks. Cashmere fibers are collected in three colors: brown, gray and white. The fibers are hand-sorted to remove impurities, treated to remove dust and gently washed to remove any course hairs. The end result is the highest quality wool available.

Customers can buy the best cashmere sweater at TheCashmereShop.com, an online retailer of fine cashmere clothing and accessories. The shop sells sweaters, cardigans for men and sweaters, cardigans and pants for women. The toddler and baby shop features cashmere hats, mitts and booties as well as hoodies, cardigans and blankets.

The Cashmere Shop sells clothing accessories like hats, scarves, socks and leg warmers. For the home, customers can find housecoats, slippers, water bottle covers and blankets. The shop even sells cashmere wristlets for brides.

Cashmere can be worn in any season, but it requires careful cleaning or the fibers can weaken and stretch out of shape. While stores usually recommend dry cleaning, a gentle hand wash and cold water rinse is often a better way to clean cashmere. It should be air dried and stored in a drawer or on a shelf. Hanging cashmere garments will stretch them out of shape.

  4. i love cashmere since it is very light yet it feels warm enough, however, we can not put them in washer :( as I hesitate to dry clean them ( I am that cheap, hehe), I handwash them and dry by lying flat on a surface, so far, it is working for me.

  5. Oh dear I wonder when I'll ever wear something like that? Living in the tropics seems like summer all year long. Haha. Except of course during rainy seasons but it;s still humid so we really can't wear clothes as thick as those. I really would love to wear one of those sweaters, though! They look so cool.
