It’s been a year now

Today last year we got up so early heading to Buffalo Airport for our Vacation in the Philippines. It was the first time I came back to my homeland after almost 5 years of being here in the USA. And this time, it is the very first time that I have to take my first born son with me, to introduce him to my Clan in the Philippines.

I feel so sad during this time of the year [December] for I truly miss my family in the Philippines. If only I could choose to be there during December I will choose it, but I can’t since we don’t have money and it’s very expensive to travel yearly as well. I can take my family to spend the Holidays there since I always feel great to be with my parents, siblings, and relatives.

Only the memories will be remembered during our vacation in the Philippines and hopefully someday soon, when we have enough money to go back and visit the family in my hometown I endure to have my whole family with me too. So that, my husband could experience how Filipino celebrate Christmas, New Year and other Holidays with each other.

  5. It's true, the travel fare alone is expensive enough. I wish I could go home during Christmas as well.

  7. kindly arase this comment Novs if the comment earlier went through, anyway, if the fare is not that expensive, I am sure we would all be there in a heartbeat, but we had to think over because each time we go home we had to spend several thousand dollars, thankfully, technology brings us closer to home.

  8. One of the best things during Christmas time is that families gather together to celebrate. I’m sure someday you will be coming home once again to be with them. Just keep praying for that moment, sis Nova.

  9. I share your sentiments. It is during the Holidays that we miss our loved ones all the more. However, with technology, I'm sure that it somehow bridge the longing.

  12. I can relate. The airfare is so expensive even for last month. I hope your family can experience Filipino’s Christmas next year. ^_^

  15. Ang bilis naman... How time flies, but if only airfare is that cheap lang, perhaps celebrating Christmas in the Philippines will be an annual affair for you.

  16. It's always the dilemma of OFWs. They want to go home to the Philippines very often but travelling doesn't come cheap. I salute you guys!
