The First Church Visit….

Last Sunday, 9th of November was the first time I visited and attended the Holy Eucharist Mass. After being here in New York for almost 5 months, and hoping that I’ll be able to go to Sunday Mass it was finally heard.

I know I should have to go but, since I’m kinda paranoid and new to the place, I don’t dare going by myself. Please don’t blame me, as I am not just used to go anywhere by myself. I did ask my Hubby but, for some reason during Sunday, we just got so many things to accomplish. And I know, God must come first before anything because it is only once week devotion and an hour to be with Him yet, I could still not do it. I know.. I know…

Anyhow, after my birthday, we finally went to the church together, and that is the very first time we went to attend a Sunday Eucharist since. Funny huh… but I’m happy, hopefully that even if my hubby won’t go with me [as he was not used of doing it, you can’t blame him, they were raised differently then Filipino does] I will go by myself and continue what devotion I did in the Philippines in here.

Felt so happy and light after I received the Body of Christ once again.

It's great na nakapunta ka na sa simbahan.

Anyway, parang ang sarap nung handa mo. Padala mo dito yung leche flan at favorite ko yan....di ako marunong magluto nyan eh...hay.

Anyway, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

    hello Novs!

during my first few weeks here in the US, i was also unable to attend the Holy Mass. there is definitely an empty feeling when i didn't attend mass. and i can relate to you when you said it feels good to be able to receive the Body of Christ once again. it makes you feel whole, right?

hi Novs, I can very well relate to what you felt, when i was very new before in connecticut, i did not know much of the places then. i asked my co-teacher where she goes for church (she's a catholic) and she directed me to somewhere very close to where i live. you see, when i was in the philippines, i was used to our cathedrals, the spanish influenced structures. so, when i walked to the church (it was about a mile walk), i noticed that the direction given to me by my co-teacher lead me to some place which did not look like a church (parang bungalow), i know there was a cross outside, and it was so small! and then, about a block away, i saw alot bigger structure that looked more of a catholic church to me, hihihihi, i entered that church, know what, I never realized i was in the wrong place until they had their sign of the cross, which was different from ours, greek orthodox pala yung napasukan ko. it turned out, the small bungalow was indeed the catholic church.
